    How do I ask my husband to loose weight without hurting his feelings?
    The love of my life, my husband of 8 years, needs to loose weight. Not only is he stunning and attractive when he is skinny but he is having serious health issues related to his weight.

    He has done it before. Twice at Jenny Craig. He looses weight so fast with Jenny Craig and he loves the food.

    His only problem is taking the time to go to the center and have the meeting and get the food.

    How do I tell him that I think it is time to go back. He has gained back everything he has already lost and more. I don’t know if there is a way to do this without hurting his feelings.

    PS-I keep myself fit and thin and healthy for him.

    You have to confront him. Make it a health issue, not an "attraction" issue. Don’t worry about hurting his feeling though. The point is you have to motivate him. I know when my wife confronts me about something I am usually resistant. HOWEVER, after the conversation is done I do some thinking about what she said and I often realize that she is right and I change. The point is you have to confront him and don’t worry about whether he agrees with you at the time. Once the issue is in the air he will probably think about it. Don’t even tell him Jenny Craig. Let him know what the problem is and let him figure out how to fix it. That’s what we guys love to do.

    Instead of telling him about his weight, focus your conversation on his health. Tell him you think its time to go because you want him to be healthy. Tell him you love him and that you want him to be healthy so you’ll have a longer happier life together. :)

    If you love him, then his size shouldn’t matter. So don’t approach it from the good looks perspective. However, the health concerns should be the emphasis. Has he seen his doctor recently? Maybe the doc can knock some sense into him. Do you have kids? I bet it is hard for him to play with the kids. Let him know that he cannot live a long life with you because of the health concern.

    jenny craig is nice but the weight comes off to fast which makes it hard to keep it off. been there. when you cook, keep it lite and healthy. bring as little junk into the house as possible. if it’s not there he won’t eat it.take walks together, go dancing. offer to work together to change his eating habits for good. there may be no way to not hurt his feelings but, if you’re gentle and compasionate he may try harder.

    Go with him or take him to the meetings. Remind him that you are not telling him this to put him down…I don’t believe he’ll think you’re trying to hurt his feelings…Because you love him sooo much and concerned for him and even more so you don’t want to lose him at an earlier age, but grow old together..this is why you always ask….Keep on him, especially b\c this is all for love.
    But if he does say to stop pressuring him…you’ll have to step back. (I know it’s frustrating. I’m kinda in the same boat. And MY honey has a cardiac family history - he LOVES steaks!) What’s a woman to do?! Good luck.

    The only person one should loose weight for is themselves, otherwise they’re not going to keep it off. Just like people who imbibe in alcohol or drugs an overweight person has to WANT to loose the weight themselves, otherwise as your husband has demonstrated, it comes back. I doubt very much that you actually keep yourself fit and thin and healthy for your husband as much as you do for yourself. Besides how do you know he is not healthy being overweight, some people CAN be healthy and still be overweight.

    What about finding a new way for him to loose weight. What about going to the gym together after work or going for a walk every night. Maybe the whole jenny craig thing is not the best for him if he is gaining it right back. My husband and I have both gained weight since we have been married and we tried to take walks together and support each other through the long process. Not everyone is into going to the gym all the time or eating healthy and stuff so some of us take a little more movation.

    I would say, do it together. Enroll to a gym nearby and work out together. Being a couple means you do things together. Compete with him and set goals for each other to achieve. If you can cook, try out those healthy food and get him to prepare it with you. Give rewards to each other when target is met. I’m sure this could bring benefit to both of your health and relationship.

    Do workout together, walk or go to the gym, try sports together, whatever it takes. Be encouraging. There are other ways to lose weight beside short-term remedies like premade food programs. Make an appt. w/a Registered Dietician. Tell him you want to be married to him forever, otherwise you’ll be stuck marrying some younger guy in 20 yrs. bc your husband died early of a stroke or heart attack.

    have you try to cook healthy food to eat and work out together. just remind him of some of the medical condition when he is over weight. talk to him and not at him….
