Are Your Weight Loss Goals Short-Sighted Or Long-Term?

I read an interesting article the other day about people who get to a certain point in their weight loss, they're happy, feel on top of the world and when they see how their body begins to look they start incorporating their old food favorites.
Why is it that when we reach a certain goal, we feel on top of the world but we're willing to throw it away on food that makes us feel bad?
